The source
Every three-phase cage induction motor between 0.73 kW and 185 kW must be registered under the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) scheme before it can legally be offered for supply in Australia. That makes this register an unusually complete picture of what is actually sold here, rather than one manufacturer's catalogue.

What the register carries
Rated power, pole count, voltage ratings, IEC frame designation, mounting arrangements, ingress protection ratings, efficiency at full, 75% and 50% load, full-load torque, weight, brand and model, and the registration number with its expiry date.
Why there are no shaft dimensions
Shaft diameter and length are the fields most often asked for and the ones we cannot supply. They are not in the GEMS register. The dimensional tables that map an IEC frame size to a shaft diameter are published in copyrighted standards, and manufacturer drawings carry their own terms. Rather than reproduce data we have no right to reuse — or worse, guess at it — BecSpec reports shaft dimensions as absent and flags them on every result as something you must confirm.
Registration families in this dataset
One GEMS registration frequently covers a family of motors rather than a single part number. In the current snapshot this affects a large majority of records: 84% list more than one mounting arrangement, 71% more than one voltage, and 59% more than one IP rating.

Data quality in this snapshot
- 4,680 records carry a readable IEC frame designation.
- 46 use NEMA frames instead. These are never matched against an IEC frame request, because the two systems are not interchangeable.
- 67 carry frame text BecSpec could not read as either system — vendor-specific codes and free text. These are shown exactly as supplied, uninterpreted, and excluded from frame matching.
- A small number carry voltage or mounting entries that could not be parsed. Those fields report as not stated rather than being filled with an assumption.
