What this finder does not do.

It is a specification cross-reference, not an installation recommender.

No retrofit or drop-in advice. BecSpec never advises charging a different refrigerant into your existing unit, and never claims pipework, wiring, brackets, controls or line sets can be reused.
No physical-fit guarantee. A specification match does not confirm dimensions, mounting hardware or refrigerant-line requirements. An installer must verify these.
Single-split only, in V1. Multi-split, VRF, packaged, portable, window/wall, ducted and units above 65 kW are out of scope for now.
Some legacy registrations are incomplete. Where the original mounting or heating figure was not recorded, the finder asks you or caps confidence rather than guessing.
Some model names cover several variants. Where one brand-and-model was registered as materially different units, the finder flags it for you to confirm the exact one.

Candidates match selected registered specifications only. Final selection requires installer/manufacturer verification.
