Eligible MZD Connect cars can receive a dealer-installed hardware and software upgrade that adds wired Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Mazda says the job takes several hours.
What to ask the dealer
Give the dealer the VIN and ask them to confirm the car has MZD Connect, then ask for the current genuine CarPlay / Android Auto retrofit kit and fitted price for that exact vehicle.
What about part numbers online?
Genuine Mazda US catalogues identify retrofit kit 0000-8F-Z34 (also shown as 00008FZ34) and related supersession information including TK78-66-9U0D. Those numbers are useful dealer cross-check clues, but Mazda Australia does not publicly establish them as the Australian order number. Do not treat a US catalogue match as proof of AU fitment.
Newer Mazda Connect cars
Newer Mazda Connect systems may already support wireless smartphone integration. Mazda Australia uses SD-card identifier KS1A 66 EZ1 as one clue associated with newer wireless-capable systems. That is an identification clue, not a retrofit kit.
Bottom line
If the car has MZD Connect, start with the official dealer retrofit path. If it already has newer Mazda Connect, check the exact year, grade and system before assuming it needs the older retrofit.
