BecSpec Because specs matter.
Method

How nozzle matching works.

The matcher is deliberately discrete: it evaluates only pressure points where the droplet class is directly evidenced.

1. Required flow

Per-nozzle flow = carrier water (L/ha) × speed (km/h) × nozzle spacing (m) ÷ 600. Product dose never enters this calculation.

2. Exact JKI endpoints

JKI records droplet class at recognised minimum and maximum pressures. BecSpec uses those pressure/class pairs exactly and does not interpolate the transition between them.

3. Droplet semantics

A FLOOR accepts the stated class or coarser. A RANGE accepts only classes between both bounds. An optional efficacy/application target is kept separate from the regulatory restraint.

4. ISO hydraulics

For standard ISO tips, nominal flow at pressure P is Q3bar × √(P/3). The value is BecSpec-derived engineering evidence, not a republished manufacturer flow table.

5. Evidence gates

The pressure must be recognised, the exact endpoint class must pass the label rule, nominal flow must be within ±5%, and this bounded release requires a family confirmed current in Australia.

6. Calibration

A match is a selection candidate. Actual nozzle output still has to be measured on the sprayer before application.
