What the match means
A result is a specification-match candidate, not proof that a new system can replace the old one physically or reuse its pipework, wiring or other installation components. Those checks still need the manufacturer documentation and an appropriately qualified installer.
Why start with the model?
Capacity alone is too weak. Identifying the old registered model lets BecSpec retain its heating/cooling cycle, electrical phase, mounting arrangement and registered capacity before looking for current candidates.
Current refrigerants
The finder searches current lower-GWP candidates represented in the Australian register, including R32, R290 and R454B where the evidence and matching rules allow them. It does not claim refrigerants are interchangeable.
