This inverter has an OEM-documented native battery path. Fronius' Australian application guide identifies a dedicated battery input and BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS/HVM compatibility.
Battery
The guide gives model-specific battery electrical limits and supported BYD configurations. Those limits matter; the brand-level statement “GEN24 works with BYD” is not enough for design.
Backup
Fronius separately documents Full Backup requirements. Native battery compatibility is therefore not treated as proof that a particular installation already has or can automatically provide whole-home backup.
