Sungrow SH-RS battery not charging or discharging when expected?
Current Australian SH-RS support material documents forced charging and scheduled discharge controls in iSolarCloud. Check the exact generation and user-visible energy-management rules first.
1. Confirm the model is an SH-RS hybrid
Sungrow's Australian HV-hybrid support hub separates SH-RS, SH-RT and older SH5K generations. Use the guide for the label actually installed.
2. Check Forced Charging
Sungrow documents an iSolarCloud Forced Charge control for SH5.0RS with valid days, up to two charge windows and a target SOC. If the battery is only solar charging, confirm that forced charging is enabled and that the target SOC has not already been reached.
3. Check discharge windows
The same energy-management area exposes weekday/weekend discharge periods. A battery can therefore be healthy but unavailable outside the defined discharge window or once reserve limits are reached.
4. Check VPP or higher-priority controls
Sungrow's Australian FAQ explicitly tells users with unexpected charge/discharge behaviour to check whether a VPP or forced charging is enabled.
5. Escalate measurement problems separately
If schedule settings look correct but the battery reacts to the wrong load or solar flow, move to the metering/system-controls checks rather than changing CT or export settings yourself.
