The first release is intentionally bounded to legacy identities where a useful replacement or successor assertion can be traced to manufacturer material.
Current seed
The draft contains reviewed identities from Davey, Onga/Pentair, REEFE and Bianco/White International. Each record carries the legacy identity, product role, replacement identity where supported, relationship type, confidence class, source URL, source type and evidence note.
Preferred evidence hierarchy
- Current manufacturer replacement/interchangeability statement.
- Manufacturer legacy product page explicitly naming a successor.
- Manufacturer manual or product book describing the relationship.
- Retailer or community material only as a discovery lead, never enough by itself for an OEM-confirmed badge.
Important source-quality exception
The REEFE RPC15ADS-IT-QP legacy page currently points to a PRJ65E pump even though the legacy record is a pressure controller. BecSpec quarantines this relationship rather than reproducing it as a replacement claim. That is intentional evidence hygiene, not a missing-data bug.
Rights posture
BecSpec stores compact factual assertions and links back to source evidence. It does not republish manuals, brochures, photographs or substantial catalogue text. Before public launch, the integration review should reconcile this compiled-source posture with the site's current data-policy wording.
