The checker combines Australian product evidence with a pinned shared BecSpec Spine. The two layers have different jobs.

Australian product evidence

Domestic BecSpec owns Australian market facts: vehicle variants sold locally, home-charger ecosystem behaviour, inverter and battery context, retailer or aggregator requirements, DNSP/network constraints, local prerequisites, and whether a pathway is currently available, conditional, trial-only or unknown.

Shared BecSpec Spine

The shared Spine owns canonical cross-market vehicle and EVSE identities, technical V2X capability assertions, explicit interoperability relationships and their supporting evidence. The Australian build pins an exact Spine revision and validates every referenced identity, capability, interoperability assertion and evidence record before the site can build.

Evidence preference

Compatibility claims prefer Australian OEM material where available, then defensible market-specific OEM evidence, global OEM evidence where regional applicability is not contradicted, and government, regulator or standards material for architecture and market constraints. Secondary material is useful for discovery and QA but is not the sole basis for a positive compatibility edge.

Current cohort

The public first release is deliberately bounded rather than pretending to be a complete Australian catalogue. It covers 20 primary-evidence Australian EV variants and seven home-charger ecosystems, while reusing the existing BecSpec Australian inverter identity corpus. Missing models return no exact match rather than being extrapolated from a similar vehicle or product family.
