Limitations
This is a compatibility and evidence-narrowing tool, not an electrical design, approval or commissioning service.
It does not design the installation
BecSpec does not size cables or protection, assess switchboard capacity, determine phase balance, specify isolation or transfer equipment, approve export settings, or certify compliance with Australian electrical standards. Site-specific work belongs with appropriately licensed installers and the relevant network/provider process.
Maximum useful rate is not guaranteed charge power
The checker can bound useful AC power from evidenced vehicle and charger limits. Real charging can be reduced by the installed circuit, charger configuration, thermal behaviour, battery state, vehicle software, demand management or network settings.
Ecosystem compatibility can be version-specific
A brand match is insufficient. Meter/controller models, firmware, inverter generation, battery operating mode, app/account configuration and tariff eligibility can all change whether a feature works.
V2H/V2G needs more than technical capability
A bidirectional-capable vehicle and interoperable EVSE do not prove that a current Australian installation is commercially available or approved by the relevant DNSP, retailer or aggregator. Historical demonstrations and trial-only pairings remain separate from current market availability. Discontinued hardware is never presented as a normal purchase path.
Coverage is intentionally incomplete
The first public cohort is evidence-led, not exhaustive. If a vehicle, charger, inverter or relationship is absent, BecSpec returns no exact match or UNKNOWN rather than borrowing a result from a superficially similar product.
