How the EV home charging match works
BecSpec resolves each requested function independently. A charger that can charge the car is not automatically compatible with the home energy system.
Identity first
The resolver starts with the Australian vehicle variant, charger model or family, inverter identity, stationary-battery context and dwelling phase. Similar branding or a shared connector is not enough to establish an ecosystem relationship.
Useful AC rate
Where the required inputs are evidenced, the useful AC ceiling is the lower of the vehicle onboard-charger limit and the charger limit for the selected supply phase. Site circuit configuration can reduce the real result further, so this is a planning ceiling rather than an installation design value.
Functions stay separate
PV-surplus charging, automatic phase switching, dynamic load management, stationary-battery interaction and tariff/smart charging each need their own evidence. A supported result can still carry controller, meter, firmware or operating-mode prerequisites.
V2H and V2G are fail-closed
Connector type, ISO 15118, OCPP, solar integration or a home battery never creates a V2X result by inference. BecSpec requires explicit vehicle capability and charger interoperability evidence, then separately asks whether an Australian commercial, network and regulatory pathway is established. Trial-only or discontinued hardware remains labelled accordingly.
