FoxESS battery not charging or discharging when scheduled?
For current FoxCloud 2.0-supported systems, start with the homeowner-visible operating rules before assuming there is a hardware fault.
1. Confirm the exact inverter generation
FoxESS Australia currently supports multiple hybrid families including H1/AC1, H1(G2)/AC1(G2), KH/KA and H3 variants. The current FoxCloud 2.0 scheduler evidence does not prove every older inverter/firmware combination behaves identically.
2. Check the scheduled work mode
FoxCloud 2.0 Mode Scheduler allows custom time periods and includes Forced Charge and Forced Discharge. Forced Charge can use both PV and grid power; Forced Discharge uses PV and battery power to supply loads and may export subject to system/network constraints.
3. Check what happens outside the schedule
FoxESS documents a Remaining Time Work Mode. A schedule that looks correct can still appear inconsistent if the plant falls back to another operating mode outside the defined window.
4. Check SOC thresholds
Minimum SOC and peak-shaving threshold SOC can prevent further discharge even while energy remains displayed. If peak shaving is active, FoxESS documents that battery discharge can suspend at the minimum SOC protection level.
5. Check whether another mode is competing
Peak shaving, self-use logic, tariff optimisation or a VPP/EMS can alter behaviour. Establish which operating mode has authority during the period you are testing.
