V2L: power an appliance
Some EVs can run appliances or equipment from an outlet or vehicle adaptor. This can be very useful, but it does not mean the vehicle can energise your home circuits.
Sometimes — but “plug my car into my house” can mean three very different things. V2L powers appliances, V2H supplies the home electrical system, and V2G can export through the grid connection. Your car supporting one does not prove it supports the others.
Not in the ordinary sense. A home EV charging cable normally sends electricity into the car. Sending stored traction-battery energy back into a home's electrical system requires an explicitly supported bidirectional vehicle/charger pathway plus the appropriate installed equipment and Australian network requirements.
BecSpec does not provide wiring, switchboard, protection or installation instructions. The useful pre-purchase question is whether your exact car has an evidenced V2H/V2G relationship at all.

V2H uses a supported bidirectional vehicle and EVSE to supply the home electrical system. Installation, isolation, protection and site suitability require qualified professionals.
V2G adds network export. Technical vehicle/charger compatibility alone does not establish that a new installation is currently approved or commercially supported in your location.
There are at least four separate gates: the vehicle must support the function; the bidirectional charger must support it; the exact car↔charger combination needs interoperability evidence; and the Australian installation/network pathway needs to be current. BecSpec deliberately does not infer these from connector type or marketing terms.
Australia has genuine V2H/V2G evidence, including Nissan LEAF and Mitsubishi PHEV CHAdeMO pathways demonstrated with first-generation Wallbox Quasar hardware. That does not mean the same hardware is a current retail option: Quasar 1 is discontinued, and historical trial or approval evidence is not the same as a currently installable pathway.
Newer CCS2 bidirectional systems are progressing. Until the exact vehicle, charger and Australian market path are evidenced together, BecSpec reports them conservatively rather than treating “V2G ready” as “yes, your car can power your house today”.
Select your vehicle in the Australian EV home-charging checker and request V2H/V2G. The result keeps technical compatibility and current Australian availability separate, and UNKNOWN remains a valid answer when the evidence is incomplete.
